Broughton Control’s rapidly expanding High Security Division has launched a new high security turnstile, the Defender 970, aimed at customers requiring unsupervised control of pedestrian access within a site perimeter.
The Defender 970 High Security Turnstile is the latest addition to a range of products from Broughton High Security aimed at front line security locations including ports, airports, prisons, police stations and government buildings as well as high risk commercial and industrial facilities such as banks and oil refineries.

Broughton Control’s rapidly expanding High Security Division has launched a new high security turnstile, the Defender 970, aimed at customers requiring unsupervised control of pedestrian access within a site perimeter.
“Following discussions with security agencies and commercial organisations, we undertook a complete reassessment of the components and assembly methods associated with existing turnstile equipment. Based on this research we have created the Defender 970 – the first high security turnstile available that has been specifically designed to meet security rating criteria .” Explains Broughton High Security sales director Barry Dickman.
The result is a unit that is not only resistant to physical attack but that also enhances site security by reducing the risk of items being passed out through the entry point. The Defender 970 is also capable of handling high traffic volumes and provides extended use between maintenance checks.
The Defender 970 High Security Turnstile is the latest addition to a range of products from Broughton High Security aimed at front line security locations including ports, airports, prisons, police stations and government buildings as well as high risk commercial and industrial facilities such as banks and oil refineries.
Originally formed to develop high security products for specialist applications in the Middle East following the Gulf conflict, the Broughton High Security division is focused on providing consultation and solutions for key front-line security locations and is now expanding its capabilities and product range in close consultation with the security agencies to offer effective pedestrian and vehicular entrance control solutions for global, high risk locations.
