Broughton Control’s rapidly expanding High Security Division has launched a new high security turnstile, the Defender 970, aimed at customers requiring unsupervised control of pedestrian access within a site perimeter.
The Defender 970 High Security Turnstile is the latest addition to a range of products from Broughton High Security aimed at front line security locations including ports, airports, prisons, police stations and government buildings as well as high risk commercial and industrial facilities such as banks and oil refineries.

High aesthetic design quality for pedestrian entrance control with new range from Broughton Controls
Entrance control solutions specialist Broughton Controls has launched a portfolio of eight new product designs aimed squarely at the prestige office, leisure and public buildings market, with further solutions dedicated to high security applications.
As one of the UK's major manufacturers and suppliers of entrance control solutions, Broughton Controls of Oldham has developed an enviable reputation for the build quality and reliability of its products over the last 30 years. Within the company's latest line-up of products, Broughton has now introduced high aesthetic design qualities into the mix, particularly in relation to pedestrian entrance control.
Managing director Laurence Goode thinks that the new products will be a welcome alternative to the established offerings for architects and property developers involved in these types of projects.
"For many years there have been only two or three manufacturers in the world capable of providing the levels of design, product and back-up service required in the prestige pedestrian entrance control marketplace. The span of Broughton's high aesthetic pedestrian range includes, full height turnstiles, motorised 'P' gates, rotary paddle turnstiles, optical barriers and retractable flap gates. All the products are suited to the new DDA compliance requirements either in their own right or through the inclusion of complementary motorised gate units.
With the current worldwide focus on building security, Broughton is also introducing a 'security booth' entrance control product. This concept has already been widely adopted by the banking industry in many countries although it is something of a new departure in the UK and will be aimed at locations where security is paramount; such as embassies, laboratories or MOD installations.
High aesthetic design values are also evident in a new, award-winning, cantilevered gate, which Broughton is introducing to the UK market for vehicular access control applications. This combination of new products now moves Broughton firmly into the premier division of entrance control solution specialists, providing architects, specifiers and developers with a "one-stop facility" to fulfil entrance control requirements on any project.
